New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Union Cabinet has approved the extension of tenure of Reserve Bank Of India Governor Shaktikanta Das for a period of three years beyond 10.12.2021 or until further orders. He took over as the 25th Governor of the RBI on 12th December 2018 after Urjit Patel resigned.
Shaktikanta Das is a 1980 batch IAS officer from Tamil Nadu cadre and has worked as the Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs.
