150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi: Naveen Appeals People to Boycott Single Use Plastic

Bhubaneswar: As the world is celebrating the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik appealed people to take pledge to protect and preserve environment and boycott single use plastic.

The Chief Minister paid his humble tribute to the Father of the Nation on the occasion.

Taking to Twitter, Naveen said that Mahatma Gandhi is the ideal for the entire mankind. His thoughts and ideologies are still relevant in the contemporary society.

ପରମପୂଜ୍ୟ ମହାତ୍ମାଗାନ୍ଧୀଙ୍କ ୧୫୦ତମ ଜୟନ୍ତୀରେ ତାଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ମୋର ଗଭୀର ଶ୍ରଦ୍ଧାଞ୍ଜଳି। ଗାନ୍ଧିଜୀ ସମଗ୍ର ମାନବ ଜାତି ପାଇଁ ଆଦର୍ଶ। ଗାନ୍ଧୀଜୀଙ୍କ ବିଚାରଧାରା ଆଜି ମଧ୍ୟ ଅନେକ ମହତ୍ତ୍ୱ ରଖିଛି। ସେହି ବିଚାରଧାରାକୁ ପାଥେୟ କରି ଆସନ୍ତୁ, ଏକ ସ୍ବଚ୍ଛ ଓ ପ୍ଲାଷ୍ଟିକମୁକ୍ତ ସମାଜ ଗଠନ କରିବା। #GandhiJayanti pic.twitter.com/8Ddu1juq76

The Odisha CM further said that Gandhiji had always emphasized on cleanliness, which is vital for peace and prosperity.

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, let’s take pledge to keep our environment clean and stop use of single use plastic, Naveen appealed to people in his message.
