COVID-19: WB Link Posed Concern for Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The West Bengal link has posed a cause of concern for Odisha in combating COVID-19.

Expressing such concern, I&PR Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh on Monday said, of the 74 COVID positive cases in Odisha, 24 persons have returned from West Bengal.

“Out of 74 COVID-19 positive cases in Odisha, 24 cases have travel history from West Bengal. All persons who have returned from West Bengal have to go through mandatory quarantine. District administrations have been asked to remain more vigilant about people returning to villages from other States without observing quarantine norms,” said Singh while briefing the media.

“All people with travel history to West Bengal during last 28 days are requested to inform the local Sarpanch, BDO/Tahasildar and quarantine themselves at home,” Health and Family Welfare Department said.

Meanwhile, 1,731 rapid antibody tests have been done in State in two days. Besides, 10,641 PCR tests have been done so far in the State.
