Puri: The 30th annual Konark Festival began today to promote the cultural heritage and tourism of Odisha.
Governor Professor Ganeshi Lal inaugurated the festival at the open air auditorium at Konark this evening.
Organised by Odisha Tourism, the festival showcases best of India’s traditional and classical dance forms besides offering interesting insights into the rich cultural heritage of the state as well as country.
The five-day event will feature leading exponents and dance enthusiasts of almost all main classical dance forms of India including Odissi, Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Kuchipudi and Mohiniattam.
Besides, Balinese Dance Group from Indonesia will be another major attraction of the festival this year.
Widya Budaya Group from Bali is expected perform at the dance carnival.
