32nd AISWA Annual Conference to Be Held in Bhubaneswar from Nov 23-24

Bhubaneswar: The 32nd annual conference of All India Santali Writers’ Association (AISWA) will be held at Rabindra Mandap here from November 23-24.

The conference will be organized by Adim Owar Jarpa, an Adivasi Upliftment Association dedicated to philanthropic, educational, health and cultural activities for indigenous people since 1975.

The two-day event aims to bring Santali writers and scholars from different states to discuss various aspects for the promotion and preservation of Santali language and literature.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is expected to attend the conference as Chief Guest.

More than 5000 delegates from across the country will be participating in the conference, said the organizer of the event.

Santali is one of India’s 22 scheduled languages. It is spoken mainly in the states of Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, Mizoram, Odisha, Tripura and West Bengal.

Established in 1988, AISWA works for the development, promotion and preservation of Santali language and literature, along with other tribal languages of India.

AISWA is a member of Santali Advisory Board of Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi.
