Bhubaneswar: In an overwhelming response to the Mo School Abhiyan, over 35,000 schools have joined the campaign in Odisha till date.
This has been announced at the 26th Executive Council of Meeting of Mo School Abhiyan held here on Monday under the chairmanship of School and Mass Education Secretary Satyabrata Sahu.
The meeting held in virtual mode in view of COVID-19 pandemic, has approved projects worth Rs 95 crore in 23 districts.
In the last one month, more than 23,000 former students have joined the ‘Mo School Abhiyan’ and Rs 11.56 crore has been collected from former students and different sources for the development of schools.
Balasore district received the maximum contribution for the seventh consecutive time with Rs 1.75 crore, followed by Cuttack with Rs 35.74 lakh, Bargarh with Rs 21.45 lakh, Jajpur Rs 17.16 lakh and Dhenkanal Rs 16.77 lakh from alumni under the initiative.
