Angul: In the all-out fight of Angul district against the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic, the Centralised Command & Control System is immensely helping the administration to better manage the situation at the ground level.
In line with the 5T initiatives of the State Government, the district administration has developed a tech-driven COVID Management System (CMS), which is the principal tool being used for the Centralised Command & Control System.
The Centralised Command & Control System acts like a unified control room for better coordination between different departments for COVID-19 response in Angul.
The CMS is helping the administration for the real-time surveillance and monitoring of COVID-19 situation and take prompt action.
The dedicated CMS portal (www.angulcms.com) has two interfaces – public and official. Through official interface, the district administration is tracking availability of beds in different COVID care centers, oxygen management, GPS based ambulance and vehicle management with live tracking and patient management in some facilities. The public interface enables the people to get their COVID test reports online without requiring them to visit the testing centres.
The command & control center is functional 24×7 and is being manned by call center executives, help desk executives, dedicated MBBS doctor, RTO staff, members from DMF/ DRDA/ DDMA. The entire system is closely monitored by a senior medical and administrative officer.
The CMS is significantly helping the district administration in strengthening the fight against COVID-19 by ensuring efficient use of resources like oxygen cylinders and has reduced response time for ambulance service & referrals, informed Angul Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain.
He further said that they are working to add more features in the CMS.
