Bhubaneswar: In a significant development, the Odisha Government has suspended as many as three sarpanchs for their alleged involvement in financial irregularities.
This has been informed by Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department Minister Pratap Jena on Saturday.
The suspended sarpanchs have been identified as Alibha Polei of Sulana Gram Panchayat in Hatadihi Block in Kandahar district, KV Reddy of Kalapani Gram Panchayat under Bargarh block in Bargarh district and Bimbadhar Dad of Betara Gram Panchayat under Bhadrak block in Bhadrak district.
Strict actions against the sarpanchs were taken for allegedly financial irregularities and absent from duty for long time.
