5T: Harekrushna Mahtab State Library to Get New Look; Career Counseling Motivational Talks to Be Organized Regularly for Students
Bhubaneswar: On the direction of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian visited the Harekrushna Mahtab State Library here on Friday.
The 5T Secretary discussed with the students about the various facilities available at Harekrushna Mahtab State Library, which is one of the premier libraries in the State. Everyday hundreds of students and youths preparing for various competitive exams and common people come to this library for study purpose.
As the library has become old, it will be renovated with new benches, tables and other furniture. Besides, the flooring and various civil structures will also be improved. In addition, the books will be preserved in a modern way and the entire library will be air-conditioned. The new building on the premises of the library will be equipped with furniture and air-conditioning, and steps will be taken to facilitate the study of more students and the public. Landscaping of the library will be done. Along with this, a food court will be opened for students and visitors to the library and a cafeteria will also be made by Mission Shakti.
As the students coming to the library are mainly preparing for various competitive exams, enough competitive magazines will be kept in the library and the entire library will be managed through IT Enabled Smart Management system. Apart from this, Motivational Talks will also be organized regularly by personalities who have achieved success in various fields for Career Counselling. It will be especially helpful for students preparing for various competitive exams.
Wi-Fi facility will be made available in the State Library. A public library will be opened in Bapuji Nagar to reduce crowding in the State Library. There will be development of state-of-the-art facility opportunities. A food court will also be arranged there. This programme will be implemented by Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) as part of the 5T initiatives, according to an official release.
Managing Director of OMC, Director of Culture Department and other officials were present during the visit of the 5T Secretary to the library.
