5T Impact: Two More Odisha Cops Compulsorily Retired from Service over Doubtful Integrity

Bhubaneswar: In pursuance of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s 5-T policy of governance, two more police officials were compulsorily retired from service for their doubtful integrity.

Two ASIs – Birabar Lenka and Kishore Ku Bag were compulsorily retired from service by the Superintendents of Police for their doubtful integrity in exercise of powers under Rule 71 of Odisha Service Code, informed the Director-General of Police (DGP) of Odisha BK Sharma.

This is in pursuance of 5T policy of the Government, the DGP mentioned on his twitter handle.

The development came just a day after Sub-Inspector Banamali Nayak, posted at Khordha SP office was given premature retirement for corruption.

Notably, the Odisha Government had earlier issued a new circular on premature retirement plan to weed out officers and employees with doubtful integrity or inefficiency from public services to bring transparency in government administration.

As per the directive, the state government employees, who have completed 30 years in the service or attained 50 years of age (whichever is earlier) and those who have attained 55 years of age, would come under the purview of the premature retirement plan.

The officers and employees will be asked for compulsory or premature retirement after review of their service records and performances and no decision should be taken arbitrarily or without careful appraisal of facts, it said.
