5T Secretary Reviews Transformation Works at OUAT 

Bhubaneswar: On the direction of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian on Thursday visited Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) to take stock of various projects being implemented there under the 5T transformation programme of the State Government.

During his visit, the 5T Secretary held discussions with the students of OUAT.

He visited the state-of-the-art auditorium, which is under construction. It was informed during the discussion that the construction work of this auditorium with 1000 seats will be completed by December 2023.

The OUAT auditorium would be the largest auditorium in the country. It will host various training programs, workshops and conferences in the field of agricultural education from state to national and international levels

All classrooms of OUAT will be made into smart classrooms. Steps will be taken to make the OUAT a leading educational and research institution at the national level, the 5T Secretary said.

It is worth mentioning that Principal Secretary of Agriculture Department Arabinda Padhee and 5T Secretary VK Pandian are the students of agricultural science.

The 5T Secretary also reviewed the renovation work of 200-capacity Farmers’ Hostel. Arrangements have been made for the farmers attending various training programs related to agriculture to stay in this hostel. The renovation work will be completed by September this year.

Pandian also reviewed the construction works of the student hostel at OUAT. The hostel can accommodate 500 students. It is targeted to complete the construction work by December 2023.

Principal Secretary of Agriculture Department Arabinda Padhee, Principal Secretary of Works Department Vir Vikram Yadav, Managing Director of OBCC and Vice Chancellor of OUAT were present among others during the 5T Secretary’s visit.
