Puri: On the instructions of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, 5T Secretary VK Pandian today morning visited Puri, Konark and Kakaktpur to review various developmental works. He discussed about the development of Maa Mangala temple in Kakatpur with the servitors and local people.
Maa Mangala Temple has a special significance in Sri Jagannath culture. Especially, during Nabakalebara, it is believed that the search for the sacred Daru starts after the divine permission of Maa Mangala. It is also one of the prominent Shakti Pithas of Odisha which attracts thousands of devotees daily. The Chief Minister has ordered for the development of the Kakatpur Mangala Temple under the 5T Initiatives.
During his visit, the 5T Secretary, held discussions with the local people and servors about the development of the temple. It was decided that the drainage system, parking area, tourist amenities will be developed. As part of this, the Prachi river front will also be developed. He also gave instructions to the officials to prepared a detailed report on the development of the Temple and peripheral areas within fifteen days which will be sent for the approval of the Chief Minister. Odisha Bridge Construction Corporation will prepare the detailed report.
Earlier in the morning, Pandian had darshan of Lord Jagannath at Puri and reviewed the Heritage Corridor Project works. He also went to the Sri Jagannath Medical College site to review the teaching hospital works. The Teaching Hospital works will be complete by June 2023.
In Konark, the 5T Secretary reviewed the development works at the Chandrabhaga beach, expansion of Konark-Chandrabhaga State Highway, and the new ring road works. He instructed the authorities to complete the works related to the Konark-Chandrabhaga expansion by April 2023. Puri Collector Samarth Verma and other officials were present on the occasion.
