5T Secretary VK Pandian Visits World Skill Center; Says It Will Emerge As A Global Brand In Coming Days
Bhubaneswar: Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian today visited the World Skill Center in Bhubaneswar and reviewed its operational status.
During his visit to the one of its kind institution in the country, the 5T Secretary said that Odisha’s youth needs to be trained with world class skills to move the state forward. The World Skill Center is providing one year advanced skills training to the youth for world class employment opportunities.
During his interaction at the WSC, he said that in the coming days, it will emerge as a global brand in skills training and the youth getting trained here will find employment in the best of the companies of the world.
He also advised that the Government ITIs in the state should also develop such infrastructure in the coming days. He was happy to see the self confidence level of the trainees and opined that they have high ambitions.
The Curriculum of the World Skill Center is in the lines of the ITEES Singapore. Pandian also interacted with the members and officials of the ITEES Singapore who are deployed in the WSC regarding their experience here.
Hemant Sharma, Principal Secretary, Skill Development & Technical Education, said that the thrust is on the participation of various agencies and industries in the employment of the youth being trained at the World Skill Center.
5T Secretary VK Pandian visited the Beauty Wellness Spa, Facial and Body Therapy Studio, Hair Fashion Design, Cutting and Styling Studio, Mechatronics, Pneumatic, Automation and Basic Robotics, Mechanical and Services, Fire Detection and Protection, Piping and Plumbing, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Lab and interacted with the trainers and trainees.
The World Skill Center will have facilities such as Vertical Transportation by 2023 and Precision Engineering by 2024. Apart from these, a digital skilling hub will also be set up at the center which will become a skill competition hub. World Skill Center CEO Reghu G and other officials of WSC were present during the visit.
