Pandian Interacts With PRI Members On Management of Covid In Seragada
Berhampur: Days after interacting with Sarpanches of Ganjam district about their leadership roles in fight against coronavirus pandemic, Secretary to Chief Minister (5T) VK Pandian today visited Ganjam district, which has reported maximum number of positive cases in Odisha, to review the overall preparedness of the district administration in response to the pandemic situation.
Pandian visited Shergada block to take stock of the arrangements to tackle the spread of the coronavirus. During his visit, he held discussions with Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange, Superintendent of Police Brijesh Kumar Ray and other district and block level officials on a range of issues pertaining to migrant workers, quarantine centre management and implementation of lockdown and social distancing norms. Pandian also directed the officials to accelerate MGNREGA works to support the livelihoods of the people.
The 5T Secretary is also scheduled to visit Hinjili, Kabi Surjyanagar, Aska, Polsara and Berhampur. He will also review the Covid care centers in the district.
Earlier, Pandian interacted with all sarpanches of Ganjam district through video conferencing and explained about their leadership role in managing quarantine centers.
During the interaction, Pandian assured the sarpanches that there was no need for them to feel scared of rising positive cases in the district as the cases are returnees from outside the state. Since they have been kept in quarantine centers, there was no need for panic, he said.
