Bhubaneswar: On the direction of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, 5T Secretary VK Pandian visited Khordha Industrial Estate, Food Park, IID Khordha and Jaymangal Industrial Estate on Tuesday and held discussion with industrialists, employees and local people about their various problems.
After the discussion, the 5T Secretary urged the Industries Department and the district Collector to solve all the problems within three months.
Around 50 small and medium enterprises and members of their associations in the Khordha Industrial Estate have participated in the discussion.
Various issues such as improvement in electricity and water supply, parking problems for trucks, hostels for workers, traffic management, waste management and security system were discussed in the meeting.
It was decided that hostels will be arranged for the accommodation of two to three thousand workers in all Industrial Estates. In the meeting, importance was also given on the employment of local people.
Many industries have faced losses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Special policy will be formulated for these industries, the 5T Secretary said.
Pandian also visited Jaymangal Industrial Estate Industrial Estate and interacted with the highly educated engineering and management graduates who had left their jobs during the pandemic. Pandian promised that the State Government would extend full cooperation to them in their efforts to set up enterprises.
The visit of 5T Secretary has brought in great enthusiasm and happiness among the industrialists. Expressing satisfaction that their long-term problem has been solved today, they said that the problem of 40 years has been solved in just 40 minutes.
Principal Secretary of Industries Department Hemant Sharma, IDCO Managing Director Bhupendra Singh Poonia and Khordha Collector K Sudarshan Chakravarthy were present at the meeting.
