New Delhi: With addition of 94,372 COVID-19 positive cases and 1,114 deaths in the last 24 hours, India’s tally of COVID-19 soared to 47,54,356 on Sunday.
This has been revealed by the Union health Ministry.
The death toll due to the novel coronavirus pandemic in the country reached 78,586 deaths.
The number of active COVID-19 cases in India now stands at 9,73,175. As many as 37,02,595 COVID-19 patients have been cured and discharged so far, the Union Health Ministry said.
The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has said that 5,62,60,928 samples were tested for COVID-19 in the country till yesterday (September 12). Of these, 10,71,702 were tested yesterday.
