Berhampur: In view of surge in COVID-19 cases, the Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) today announced that all religious places in Berhampur will remain closed for the public from January 9 to February 1.
“All religious places/ places of worship such as temples, churches, mosques in BeMC shall remain closed for public”, BeMC Commissioner Dr. Siddeshwar Baliram Bondar stated in an order.
However, religious rituals are allowed with bare minimum priests/servitors and staff adhering to the COVID safety protocols. Religious congregations are strictly prohibited, the order reads.
