Dubai Suspends Marriages, Divorces to Tackle COVID-19 Spread

Dubai: Dubai has suspended marriages and divorces to avoid gatherings that could spread COVID-19, according to reports.

The Personal Status Court in Dubai has suspended all personal legal services, including attestations of marriage contracts and divorce certificates ‘until further notice’, as part of the Emirates’ latest measure to limit the spread of the coronavirus.

The UAE has recorded 2,076 cases of COVID-19 and 11 deaths from the disease, according to the World Health Organisation’s latest report.
