Ganjam Lockdown: Here’s List of Activities Permitted and Restricted

Berhampur: The Ganjam district administration today issued a fresh order detailing the list of activities permitted and restricted in the district during lockdown till June 30.

The order will come into force with effect from June 14 to midnight of June 30.

Here’s is the details:

Transportation

  1. No public transport services including operation of taxis, auto-rickshaws will be permitted. The exception will include transport of all kinds to and from hospitals, airports, railway station.
  2. Production, manufacture, storage, transportation and distribution of essential commodities is of paramount importance. All agencies, authorities and enforcing authorities will ensure unrestricted and unhindered movement of goods and cargo, including essential commodities, into and throughout the District of Ganjam.
  3. Private vehicles will not be allowed to ply during the lockdown period except those belonging to persons engaged in organizations/ agencies permitted to operate. Such persons should carry appropriate authorization and ID/ documents.
  4. All drivers and workforce engaged in such goods and cargo movement will be required to follow the social distancing norms.
  5. Persons will be allowed to purchase essential needs without using Motor cycle/ any motor car.
  6. No motorcycle will be allowed on road.
  7. For normal health issues no motor cycle/ motor car will be allowed. Tahasildar& IIC will examine in case of Medical Emergency if any arises.

Essential Services

  1. Essential Service will be available from 7 AM to 12 Noon. Complete lock down after 12 Noon to 7 AM. No person shall be outside home after 12 Noon to Next day 7 AM.
  2. Vegetables & Grocery will be sold in a decentralized mode and with proper barricading and observing social distancing and use of mask and gloves. Medicine Stores will supply orders over phone.
  3. Medicine Shop will be selectively allowed. Drug Inspectors &EOs of ULBs to take a call in this regard. Minimum distance between Medicine shop will be 100 Metres.
  4. However, the following essential services will be work as usual;
  • All Public Offices of State Government & Central Governments
  • Health Service
  • Services of Urban Local Bodies
  • Postal Services
  • Fire Services Electricity,
  • Water and Municipal Services
  • Bank/ ATM
  • Print & Electronic Media
  • Telecom & Internet Services including IT &ITeS.
  • Postal Services
  • Supply chain and related transportation E-Commerce (delivery) of all essential pharmaceutical and medical equipment.
  • Food, Groceries, Milk.Bread. Fruit, Vegetable, Meat transportation related activities and warehousing.
  • Home delivery by restaurants.
  • Hospitals, Chemist Stores, optical Stores, Pharmaceuticals manufacturing and their transportation related activities.
  • Petrol pumps, LPG Gas, Oil agencies, their godown and their transportation related activities.

Production Sector

  1. Production and manufacturing Units which requires continuous process may continue to function, after obtaining required permission from the undersigned.

Law & Order

  1. a) People are required to stay at home and come out only for basic services by strictly following social distancing norm.
  2. b) Any congregation of more than five persons shall be prohibited in public places

Enforcement Activities

  1. a) Strict Police patrolling and whoever seems to violate the law will be put into a quarantine facility apart from penal actions. If anyone not following home quarantine, then that person must be shifted to institutional quarantine.

Other Activities

  1. Senior citizens, Pregnantwoman, Persons with co-morbidites& Children below 10 years are not allowed to come outside unless and until there is a health emergency.
  2. Universal covering of Face whoever is outside home and use of mask for indoors too those who are suffering from Flu and are on symptomatic treatment. Further, those who are also in home quarantine required to have mask all the time.
  3. Ensuring strict social distancing norms at Banks and other Government benefit dispensing points.
  4. d) In rural areas, the works under MGNREGS and agriculture and allied activities are allowed.
  5. In urban areas, the wage employment programmes taken up by Government is allowed.
  6. All Government Developmental works will continue and the vr-son engaged in such business must possess the pass issued by tree concerned Government Agency.
  7. Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) shall take a necessary measures for ensuring social distancing and for maintaining essential services. If any violation is found, it is the duty of President/ Secretary of RWA to inform the local enforcement authorities.
  8. Bathing public places like in ponds, Bandha and river is completely prohibited.
  9. Private establishments (including private security) that support the above services or are linked to the efforts for containment of COVID-19 will remain open.

The activities which are not specifically and explicitly mentioned in the Order are deemed to be denied/ closed.

Weekend Shutdown 

However, in pursuant to Oder No. 3116/R&DM (DM) Dated 02.06.2020 of Chief Secretary, Odisha, in the interest of public health and the containment of spread of COVID-19 in Ganjam District, shutdown is imposed in Ganjam District on all Saturdays and Sundays till 30th June, 2020.

During this shutdown, only the following activities shall be allowed;

  1. All medical establishments including Hospitals, Clinics, Nursing Homes, including medicine stores. Movement of Ambulance and all medical personnel.
  2.  District and Municipal Administration/ Police/ Fire Services
  3. Central & State Government officials on emergency duty
  4.  Telecom services
  5.  Petrol pumps
  6.  Print and Electronic Media identified by DI&PRO, Ganjam & District Police
  7. Water Supply, sanitation and sewerage workers
  8. Electricity supply and distribution
  9.  Movement of goods and good carriers, whether loaded or unloaded
  10. Industrial establishments and factories
  11. All Agriculture, Horticulture & Allied activities
  12.  All Dairy Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Allied activities
  13. Movement of rail and air transport, road transport on highway ;
  14. Funerals, with the permission of the local authority
