India Reports Another Highest Spike In Coronavirus Numbers

New Delhi: The Coronavirus numbers in India are breaking all records day by day and it seems there may not be any breather in the near future. In the last 24 hours till 8 am on Sunday, India added another 38,902 new positive cases taking the total tally to more than 10 lakh 77 thousand conformed cases.

The latest data shows that the number of recovered cases has also increased significantly as 23 672 persons have been cured in the last 24 hours taking the total number of recovered cases to 6,77,423. At present India has 373, 379 active cases with the addition of 14.687 new cases in the last 24 hours. The death toll due to the deadly virus has increased to 26,816 with 543 new deaths reported in the last 24 hours.

Maharashtra remains the biggest affected state in India with more than three lakh positive cases. The state has reported 8348 positive cases in the last 24 hours. It has also reported the highest number of deaths till date at 11596. India’s testing numbers also witnessed a massive increase in the last few days. While the total number of tests carried out in the country stood at 1,37,91,869, in the last 24 hours as many as 3,58,127 tests were conducted.

Worldwide, the Coronavirus has affected more than fourteen million people and caused death of more than six lakh people. In the last 24 hours, there were more than 237,000 positive cases reported world over. The US continues to be the largest affected country with more than One lakh forty thousand deaths till date.
