Bhadrak: Jr. Clerk Arrested of Aided Junior College Arrested for Taking Bribe

Bhadrak: A junior clerk of aided junior college in Bhadrak district was arrested by vigilance today for allegedly taking bribe from a person for processing the pension and gratuity.

Pravat Kumar Nayak, Jr. Clerk (In-charge Section Officer), Indira Gandhi Memorial Higher Secondary School(Aided Junior College), Sanalpur under Dhusuri police limits in Bhadrak district was apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while he was demanding and accepting bribe Rs.10,000 from a complainant in order to process the pension and gratuity in favor of his sister following the death of his father (in 2020) who was serving as a Reader .

The family was yet to get family pension despite passage of two years since his death. Accused Nayak was not processing the file in favor of the family get the family pension, which was their legitimate due for more than a year, according to the vigilance.

The tainted bribe money Rs.10,000 has been recovered from the junior clerk and seized.

Following trap, office of Nayak in Indira Gandhi Memorial Higher Secondary School and his residential house in Bhadrak district are being searched from DA angle.

In this connection, a vigilance case has been registered against the accused. The investigation is underway, the vigilance added.
