Odisha CM Greets People on Suna Besha

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today greeted the people on the occasion of Suna Besha of the Holy Trinity.

Devotees in large numbers thronged the pilgrim city of Puri to witness this unique ritual of the Lord Jagannath and his siblings Balabhadra, and Goddess Subhadra.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister took to social media and wished a happy and prosperous life to the people of Odisha.

Suna Besha is also known as Raja or Rajadhiraja besha  or Raja Besha or Rajarajeshwara Besha. It is a unique ritual when the Trinity are adorned with gold jewelry.

Suna Bhesha is observed 5 times during a year. It is commonly observed on Magha Purnima (January), Bahuda Ekadashi also known as Asadha Ekadashi (July), Dashahara (Vijyadashami) (October), Karthik Purnima (November), and Pousa Purnima (December).
