Bhubaneswar: Filmmaker Biswanath Rath’s widely appreciated documentary ‘Kotpad Weaving: The Story of a Race Against Time’ will be screened at the ‘AegeanDocs-International Documentary Film Festival’ to be held at Athens in Greece on October 4.
Kotpad handloom, a unique tribal textile tradition from Odisha’s Koraput district, is globally famous for its use of natural dye and tribal motifs.
Biswanath Rath’s documentary that explores the uniqueness of Kotpad Handloom, has already been screened at 14 film festivals, including Ambacht in Beeld Film Festival 2019 in Amsterdam.
It tells the rich and fascinating story of a unique, timeless textile tradition practiced for centuries in the tribal region of Koraput.
It is the only Indian film to have found a place in the list of 51 International films to be screened at AegeanDocs-International Documentary Film Festival.
The documentary has been produced by PSBT in association with Doordarshan. This documentary was telecasted on DD National on 24 March 2018.
