Berhampur Police Seizes Huge Quantity of Gold, Silver from Vehicle Coming from Tamil Nadu

Berhampur: The Berhampur Police today seized a huge quantity of gold and silver from a vehicle coming from Tamil Nadu.

While performing Naka and checking duty early this morning, the Golanthara PS staff intercepted a vehicle, which was found moving suspiciously.

Upon searching the vehicle , the police recovered 4.664 kg gold and 185.5 kg silver within secret chamber behind the back seat of the vehicle.

Preliminary investigation showed that the Karnataka registered four wheeler was coming from Tamil Nadu and the Gold and Silver were for delivery in Berhampur, informed Berhampur SP Dr. Saravana Vivek M.

The market value of the seized jewelry is around Rs 3.10 crore.

Further investigation in the matter is underway, the police said.
