Bolangir: The Odisha Vigilance on Wednesday apprehended the Block Education Officer (BEO), Bolangir for taking bribe from an assistant teacher.
The BEO has been identified as Raghab Panigrahi.
The BEO was caught by vigilance sleuths while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.10,000 from the complainant (assistant teacher) in order to submit favourable enquiry report in the departmental proceeding initiated against the complainant.
The entire bribe money has been recovered from Panigrahi and seized.
Following trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of the BEO from DA angle.
In this connection, a case has been registered at Sambalpur Vigilance P.S. Investigation is in progress against the BEO.
