Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today launched the membership drive for the party. At a function held at the party headquarters, Naveen launched the drive and became the first member to take part in the drive. On this occasion the chef minister has asked the party men to be the agents of transformation. This is going to be the largest ever membership drive by the party as it continues to increase its popularity throughout the state. The successive elections have showed that the Biju Janata Dal remains the Numero Uno and getting stronger day by day.
The Biju Janata Dal has more than 47 lakh members and the party aims to double the number in this year’s membership drive. Starting from today on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Puja, the drive to add members will continue till 31st October. The party has also made special arrangements to enroll members through online. It has brought out a website www.joinbjd.com to facilitate online joining.

The Chief Minister has asked the party leaders to focus on women, farmers and youth during the drive. On the occasion of the Party’s extended Executive Body meeting on Sunday, Naveen had urged the party leaders and workers to act as agents of transformation for the common people.
