Bhubaneswar: Khurda Police seized brown sugar worth Rs 56 lakh and arrested four persons in this connection.
Acting on a tip-off, a team from Khurda Model police raided a place near Chilla Fish Godown in the Totapapada area in Khurda and seized 560 grams of brown sugar. Police also seized an auto-rickshaw.
Four drug peddlers, including a woman were arrested. The accused have been identified as Susma Mallick (36), Siba Mallick (42) and Jayaprakash Mallick (21), all residents of the Ramachandi Durgaprasad area, and Pratap Kumar Mohapatra (33), a resident of Mahatapalla in Nayagarh district.
All four were produced in court and sent to jail custody, the police said.
