Bhubaneswar: Western Odisha districts particularly Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh are witnessing an increase in temperatures. Yesterday Jharsuguda recorded this year’s highest temperature in Odisha at 45.6 degrees. Sambalpur also recorded 45.2 degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department, the condition will remain same for the next five days and the temperatures will be 3 to 5 degrees more than normal in some places.
The MET has also issued heat wave warning for Sambalpur, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sonepur, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Balangir, and Mayurbhanj districts. In the coastal areas, many places are likely to witness increased temperatures and Kalabaisakhi rains and thunder showers.
