Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) will stage a protest against increase in the price of cooking gas cylinders.
The BJD will hold the demonstration in front of Raj Bhavan here from 10 am tomorrow, informed the party spokesperson Shreemayee Mishra.
Targeting the Centre over the increase in the price of cooking gas cylinders, she said that the price of one domestic LPG cylinder (14.2kg) was Rs 410 in 2014 which has now become Rs 1,130.
Gas prices have increased three times in nine years. Therefore, many families in Odisha are now returning their Ujjwala cylinders, she said.
If the Central Government does not reduce the gas prices, the BJD will protest in all the RDCs, Districts, Blocks, Panchayats and Villages of the state in the coming days, she added.
