Malkangiri: The continuous heavy rains for the last two days in Malkangiri district have affected road communication between Malkangiri and Kalimela block. According to reports, flood like situation is prevailing in various remote areas of the district as streams and rivers flowing above normal. Rain water is flowing above the Tarlakote bridge in Korukonda Block affecting communication to Balimela.
The National Highway 326 is blocked as water is flowing near Poteru, MV 96 and nearby places affecting communication. The road communication between Malkangiri and Kalimela, MV 79 and Motu has also been cut off due to flooding of roads at various places. The district administration is keeping an eye on the situation and all BDOs and Tahasildars have been asked to stay alert and provide help wherever necessary including deployment of police near to the flood affected places.
