Odisha Chief Secy Chairs Secretary-Level Meeting, Reviews Performance of Depts

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena on Tuesday chaired a secretary-level meeting to review performance of various departments of the State Government.

Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries and Commissioner-cum Secretaries of different departments were present in the meeting.

Development Commissioner Anu Garg presented the major achievements of various departments till the end of last November.

Notable activities in the month of November include the launch of banking services in various unbanked Panchayats in the State, smooth operation and expansion of LAccMI bus service to the areas which don’t have proper transport facilities, the successful holding of the International Millet Conference to popularize millets, signing of MoU by various departments such as Higher Education, Water Resources and E&IT.

It was known from the meeting that the construction of various important bridges has been completed by the Rural Development Department in November. Odisha Tennis Academy has been inaugurated along with the signing of MoU for setting up Odisha Football Academy. Odisha State Hydrological Data Center has been inaugurated in the Water Resources Department. Odisha won the Gold medal in the India International Trade Fair and other notable achievements of various departments were discussed in the meeting.

Principal Secretary of Finance Department Vishal Kumar Dev shed light on the fiscal performance of State by the end of November.

It was known from the meeting that as per the budget approval, the investment percentage along with economic growth is higher this year compared to the last year.

Commissioner of Commercial Taxes & GST Sanjay Kumar Singh gave detailed information regarding Input Tax Credit (ITC) and its refund under GST.
