Bengaluru: The Indian Space Research Organisation today successfully launched the ambitious PSLV-C58 rocket with XPoSat. The PSLV-C58 launch mission lifted off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota at 9:10 am.
The XPoSat, as part of India’s first mission into the world of Polarimetry, that will study various dynamics of bright astronomical X-ray sources such as neutron stars, black holes, or other high-energy phenomena. It has a mission life of five years.
Taking to X, ISRO wrote, “Lift-off normal, XPoSat satellite is launched successfully. PSLV-C58 vehicle placed the satellite precisely into the intended orbit of 650 km with 6-degree inclination. The POEM-3 is being scripted …”
