CM Naveen Patnaik To Inaugurate Malkangiri Airport Tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: Adding another chapter to the glorious development journey of Malkangiri, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will inaugurate the Malkangiri Airport tomorrow. The Chief Minister is scheduled to arrive at Malkangiri Airport in a special aircraft and inaugurate the newest airport of Odisha. 5T Chairman Kartik Pandian will also accompany the Chief Minister. A trial run was carried out yesterday wherein an aircraft from Bhubaneswar successfully landed at the Malkangiri Airport. The Chief Pilot and DGCA members present during the trial run have said that the run was successful. They were also happy with the available infrastructure and facilities at the Airport. With this, passenger services can be started from various places to Malkangiri. The Malkangiri Airport has a 1620 meter runway that can help small and medium size aircrafts.

The Malkangiri Airport is built on a patch of 106 hectors of land. It has a 1620 meters runway that can be expanded to a three kilometer runway if required. The promise made by CM Naveen Patnaik for air connectivity of Malkangiri is going to be fulfilled. The Government of Odisha has built the Airport on a priority basis for the development of the area. The construction work of the Airport completed in a record 14 months and the Government of Odisha has spent about Rs 54 crore for this project from its own funds.
