Ace Swimmer Mannata Mishra Scripts History, Wins Gold for Odisha at National Aquatic Championships

Bhubaneswar: Ace swimmer Mannata Mishra has scripted history at the National Aquatic Championships held at the Kalinga Stadium Aquatic Centre in Bhubaneswar.

Mannata has clinched the Gold medal for host Odisha in 100m breaststroke event of the 59 National Junior Aquatic Championship.

It is the first ever Gold for Mannata Mishra in the junior national swimming competition.

Mannata, who has been trained under the guidance of Odisha IIS Swimming HPC, has earlier won the bronze in the 200m breaststroke in the Championships.

Mannata has represented Odisha at the major national events and won medals and had achieved a significant milestone in her sporting career in February this year by winning her first internal medal at the first BIMSTEC Aquatics Championships 2024 in New Delhi. She had won a Silver medal in women’s 200m Breaststroke event.

Earlier in June this year, the ace swimmer had bagged a Silver and Gold medals at the 2nd Odisha National Swimming Ranking Championship.
