Air India Express Plane from Dubai Skids off Kozhikode Runway, Split into Pieces, Pilot Reportedly Killed

Thiruvananthapuram: Dubai-Kozhikode Air India flight (IX-1344) skidded during landing at Karipur Airport, Kozhikode at around 7.45 pm today.

One of the pilots of the aircraft is believed to have been killed in the accident. Preliminary images from the accident site showed the aircraft split into two pieces with debris all over the runway.

The aircraft seems to have overshot the tabletop runway and plunged 30 feet down.

The injured passengers  have been admitted to near by hospital.
