Koraput: The all party meeting called today to discuss about the Panchayat elections in Kotia has once again reaffirmed its support to the joint candidate Mamata Jani. The meeting was called today to discuss the ways and modalities for supporting Mamata Jani who is fighting as a Zilla Parishad candidate from Kotia. The meeting, held at Pottangi, was attended by the senior leaders of the three parties Biju Janata Dal, Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress.
Earlier, all the three parties had agreed to support the candidature of Mamaja Jani for the Zilla Parishad zone from Kotia as a consensus candidate and decided that no other candidate will stand for the Panchayat elections. But independent candidate Tikai Gamel also filed her nomination papers and is ready to take on Mamata Jani.
This is for the first time in the history of the state that the three parties have come together to thwart the ill intentions of the neighboring state Andhra Pradesh which has been interfering in the Odisha villages.
