Puri: The Shri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has dropped the move to bid telecast rights for the world famous Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath to be held in the pilgrim city of Puri next month.
All the television channels will be allowed to broadcast the annual festival scheduled to commence from July 4, said the SJTA.
The temple administration also announced that the TV channels will be asked to contribute a part of their profit to the temple fund. .
The SJTA will hold discussions with heads of the TV channels soon in this regard, sources said.
