All You Need To Know About Biju Swasthya Kalyana Yojana Smart Health Cards

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will today inaugurate the distribution of India’s first Digital Smart Health Card under the Biju Swasthya Kalyana Yojana at Malkangiri.

More than one and a half lakh families of the district will be handed over the smart cards in the next one week. The Smart Card will entitle the beneficiaries free and hassle free treatment at all government hospitals and more than 200 private hospitals.

CM Naveen Patnaik had announced the launch of the Smart Card in his Independence Day speech and said that more than three and half crore people of the state will be covered under the revamped Health insurance scheme. Naveen had said that the initiative would transform the health service delivery system and create history in the health sector of the country. The move will usher in a new era in state’s healthcare sector.

The important features of Biju Swasthya Kalyana Yojana are:

• Revamped Biju Swasthya kalyana Yojana with Smart Cards announced on August 15th 2021.
• Odisha is the first state in the country to issue Smart Health Cards.
• Three and half Crore people belonging to 96 lakh families will get the digital Smart Health Cards.
• CM will launch the distribution of the Smart Cards From Malkangiri o 20th August
• All people to be included in phases.
• All beneficiaries of National and State Food Security Schemes, Annapurna and Antodaya Yojana will be included in the scheme
• Each family is entitled to free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh per annum. Women beneficiaries are entitled for treatment cost upto ten lakhs.
• More than 200 private hospitals from within and outside the state are included
• All government hospitals in the state to provide free treatment
• Hospital list available at health.odisha.gov.in and nrhmorissa.gov.in
• Scheme includes free medicines, diagnostics, free dialysis, free Cancer chemotherapy, free OT, free I.C.U, free in-patient admission
• Dedicated toll free number 155369 is working from 6 AM to 10 PM.
