Allegations of Neglect Towards Patient at Bankisole COVID Hospital ‘False and Baseless’: Mayurbhanj Collector
Baripda: Mayurbhanj Collector Vineet Bhardwaj has termed the allegations of neglect towards a patient by medical staff at the Covid Hospital, Bankisole ‘false and baseless’.
Bhardwaj made the statement after visiting the hospital to review the arrangements at the healthcare center, including treatment protocols followed, provision of oxygen to the patients, fooding arrangements, cleanliness of toilets and functioning of help desk.
He also went to the wards and interacted with the patients. All the patients were mostly satisfied with the treatment in the hospital, the Collector said.
“The recent allegation made in the social media regarding neglect towards a patient by the doctors and nurses was enquired into and was found false and baseless”, Bhardwaj said.
“The patient had neurological problems and was going through alcohol withdrawal symptoms. He was taken to his bed many times by the hospital staff and proper care and support was provided to him both by the doctors and nurses in the hospital”, the Collector said.
All the doctors, nurses and administrative staff in the hospital are working round the clock and risking their lives to provide quality treatment and care to each and every patient admitted in Bankisole COVID Hospital, he added.
The Collector along with the Additional DM, Project Administrator, ITDA, CDM&PHO, Authorised Medical Officer and team of other doctors visited the COVID Hospital, Bankisole and reviewed the arrangements in the hospital following the allegation of medical negligence at the hospital.
