Bhubaneswar: The coastal town of Paradip today experienced the wind speed 106 kmph along with rain triggered by super cyclone Amphan.
The cyclone is heading towards north-east direction now. It will make landfall at Sundarban in West Bengal between 8.30 pm and 10.30 pm today.
Roads at many places in coastal districts have been blocked due to uprooting of trees due to heavy rain with gusty gale.
According to Met office, the cyclone is expected to cross the Odisha coast by 5 pm.
The Government has already evacuated 1.37 lakh people from the vulnerable places to safer places.
The State machineries have been press into service to clear roads of felled trees and it within six hours of weather returns to normalcy, said Chief Secretary.
