Anand Mahindra Lauds Odisha Govt’s Urban Sports Infrastructure Project, Urges Other States to Emulate
New Delhi: Chairman of Mahindra Group Anand Mahindra has lauded the Odisha Government’s “Urban Sports Infrastructure Development Project” and said that other States should emulate this.
With an aim to transform the sports sector in the State under the 5T initiative, the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik-led Odisha Government has decided to construct as many as 89 multi-purpose indoor stadiums “Urban Sports Infrastructure Development Project” with an investment of Rs 693.35 crore. These stadiums will be completed over next 18 months.
The project will provide a major boost for the development of sports in the State.
Highly appreciating the Odisha Government’s Urban Sports Infrastructure Development Project, Anand Mahindra said, “Investments in infrastructure create productive assets and a multiplier effect on economic activity & employment. Infrastructure that can multitask & be deployed during medical & environmental crises (2 greatest future threats) is brilliant”.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has been focusing on development of sports in Odisha. In recent years, the State has been recognized as a leading destination for sports events and promotion of sports.
