New Delhi: BJD MP Pramila Bisoyi on Saturday urged Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to expedite the search operation of missing IAF Transport Aircraft An-32 and bring back flight lieutenant Sunit Mohanty.
Sunit, a native of Baliapalli village under Kabisuryanagar block in Aska parliamentary constituency in Odisha’s Ganjam district, was among the 13 IAF personnel onboard the ill-fated AN-32 transport aircraft of the IAF that went missing after taking off from Jorhat Airbase in Assam on June 3.
The BJD MP wrote a letter to Rajnath Singh requesting him to expedite the search operation of the missing IAF AN-32 flight and bring back Mohanty along with other members who were on board.
“Sir, Mr Sunit Mohanty belongs to my parliamentary constituency, Aska of district Ganjam, Odisha. His parents are quite disturbed and with folded hands appraised the situation. It was very painful to see their plights and hence requesting you to expedite the search operation of the missing IAF AN-32 flight and bring back Mr Mohanty along with other members who were on board”, Bisoyi wrote.
Meanwhile, the people in Baliapalli village on Saturday offered prayers wishing safe return of Sunit Mohanty.
