Bhanjanagar: A Krushak Bazar in the name of late farmer leader Balabhadra Arukha was opened here on Friday by Regulated Marketing Committee, Bhanjanagar to facilitate the local farmers sell their produce at fair price.
The Balabhadra Arukha Krushak Bazar was formally inaugurated by Minister for Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Ranendra Pratap Swain in the presence of Bikram Keshari Arukha, Minister, Forest, Environment & Climate Change and Parliamentary Affairs and Jitendra Keshari Arukha, Vice-Chairman, Bhanjanagar Block.
Balabhadra Arukha Krushak Bazar will enable the farmers of Bhanjanagar and other nearby areas to sell their produce directly to the people without the involvement of any middleman.
The rural farmers, who used to travel to the town daily to sell their produce, can now sell their produce at fair price at the newly-opened market.
Late Balabhadra Arukha, father of Bikram Keshari Arukha, was very popular for his contribution for the development of the farmers in Bhanjanagar. He was the president of Aska Cooperative Sugar Mill.
