Balasore Police Arrests Four DRDO Contractual Staffs on Charges of Leaking Defence Secrets to Foreign Agents

Balasore: Balasore Police has arrested four contractual staffs of the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Chandipur for allegedly leaking the classified defence secrets to foreign agents, suspected be Pakistani agents.
The persons were arrested from Chandipur area.

Basing on input received from reliable sources, four persons have been apprehended in Chandipur PS Case of Official Secret Act by Balasore District police for committing offence of causing serious harm to the security, sovereignty and integrity of the nation, the police said in a statement adding that further interrogation of these four detainees and some others is going on to unearth more evidences in the case.

The police got credible intelligence that some persons are wrongfully and willfully communicating the classified defence secrets to foreign agents , appearing to be Pakistani agents , being contacted from various ISD phone numbers and in exchange , they were getting wrongful monetary benefits from them .

Basing on these inputs, multiple police teams were formed to apprehend the culprits.

In the course of raids by Balasore police, several incriminating materials are also recovered, the police added.
