Bhubaneswar: Joining the cause of rebuilding Fani-hit Odisha, public sector lender Bank of India (BOI) and Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) today contributed towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) for the relief and restoration works in the cyclone-affected areas in the State.
BOI Managing Director and CEO Dinabandhu Mohapatra met Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the State Secretariat here and handed over a cheque bearing Rs 6.61 crore.
Hindustan Unilever contributed Rs 2.5 crore towards the CMRF for restoration measures in cyclone Fani-affected areas.
The company’s General Manager (East India) Amlan Mukherjee presented the cheque of the said amount to the Chief Minister.
Besides BOI and Hindustan Unilever, two other donors – Angul District Administration and former MLA of Chilika, Raghunath Sahu contributed Rs 43.24 lakh and Rs 1.2 lakh to the CMRF respectively.
The Chief Minister thanked all donors to CMRF for joining the cause of rebuilding Odisha after Cyclone Fani left a trail of destruction.
He also urged all to join hands to heal lives affected by cyclone.
