Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will inaugurate Odisha Government’s pathbreaking initiative Ama Bank today. The Ama Bank will provide banking services is all the unbanked Gram Panchayats of the state. According to sources, more than 4300 CSP Plus points in the unbanked Gram Panchayats will provide 15 banking services to the beneficiaries under the AMA Bank initiative. The AMA Bank will provide doorstep services for old age pension, Pregnant Women benefits, Differently abled persons and other social sector benefits to the beneficiaries.
Odisha will be the first state in the country to bring in such an initiative to provide banking services to the unbanked areas. The step will ease of financial transaction in the rural areas and strengthen economic growth and resilience. The initiative is being supported by six public sector banks.
