Bhubaneswar: The newly constructed the Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT), Baramunda will be named after the Father of Indian Constitution and Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar.
The Baramunda ISBT will now be known as Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bus Terminal.
Announcing this, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that Dr. Ambedkar was a visionary leader and a dedicated social reformer. He was the light of hope for the downtrodden of the society. He has worked all his life to build a just society.
A special gallery of 900 square feet area will be constructed at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Bus Terminal to make the public aware of his great contribution and ideals in the nation building. Dr. Ambedkar’s biography and ideals will be beautifully presented here through the use of digital technology. A copy of the Indian Constitution along with various items used by Dr. Ambedkar will also be displayed here.
Spanning over 15.5 acres of land, the ISBT is poised to become a crucial transit hub not only for the residents of Odisha but also for those from neighboring states.
