Bhubaneswar: The BDO of Golamunda Block in Kalahandi district was caught with ill-gotten cash of Rs 5 lakh during an interception by the Odisha Vigilance sleuths.
Based on credible input regarding collection of huge bribe amount illegally as PC by Akhyamita Kartik, BDO of Golamunda Block, Kalahandi, and her movement towards native at Koraput, a team of Odisha Vigilance intercepted her today near Jaring in between Bhabanipatna- Junagarh.
A cash of Rs 5 lakhs was recovered from the possession of the BDO and seized. She is being interrogated to ascertain the source of funds. Searches launched at her locations in Koraput and Kalahandi, the Vigilance said.
