Bhubaneswar: Beating heavyweights like Damadar Rout has finally earned first time MLA Raghunandan Das ]a ministerial berth in the Naveen Patnaik cabinet who took oath for the record 5th consecutive term today.
Das who defeated veteran leader Damodar Rout from Balikuda-Erasama assembly constituency, , belongs to Balikuda in Jagatsinghpur district and is a lawyer by profession.
When asked about his ministerial berth and award for beating Damo Rout, Das said, one should not take it as reward or award. The Ministerial berth brings more accountability. I take it as the Naveen Patnaik has shown more faith on me to work more for the development of the people in this area.
Providing employment to the youth is also a big challenge, he added.
