Berhampur Journalists Hold Candlelight March to Pay Tributes to Rohit Biswal

Berhampur: The media persons in Berhampur took out a candlelight march to pay tributes to journalist Rohit Biswal, who was killed in a landmine blast planted by the Maoists in Kalahandi district on Saturday.

Berhampur MLA Bikram Panda and Superintendent of Police (SP) Pinak Mishra joined the march to express their solidarity to the bereaved family of the deceased journalist.

The journalists have prayed peace to the departed soul.

Earlier, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has expressed his profound greef over the death of Biswal.

The Chief Minister has condemned the Maoist violence and ordered for strong action against those involved in the vviolence.

The 43-year-old journalist died in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast while he was trying to go near posters put up by suspected Maoists warning people not to vote in the coming panchayat polls in Mohangiri village in Madanpur Rampur block in Kalahandi district.
